The raw materials of the glass and ceramic industry are Sodium Feldespar and Chrome, Marble and Lignite, which are extensively mined in Muğla. It is one of the provinces where the highest quality marbles are found in Turkey. It has famous “Mugla White” and different attractive marble varieties.. Muğla's total marble deposits is about 400 million tons.
90% of the world's pine honey is produced in Turkey. Approximately 75-80% of pine honey in Turkey is produced in Muğla.
It has fertile agricultural soil, , rich water resources and the Mediterranean climate in the region allows for a wide variety of plant production in Muğla. Valuable agricultural products such as Memecik olives, Datça nurlu almonds, greenhouse vegetables and citrus fruits are grown and exported. It has the potential to become an organic agriculture production center with its fertile and wet lands that have not been exposed to the negative effects of industrialization.
