As development agencies, we aim to mobilise local development dynamics across Türkiye, ensure the most effective use of regional resources and potential, promote more balanced and inclusive development throughout the country, and enable our citizens to enjoy access to opportunities on as equal a basis as possible.

To this end, we carry out activities aimed at strengthening human and institutional capacity at the local level, fostering a culture of project development and implementation, creating the investment environment necessary to enhance the global competitiveness of our regions, and ensuring that local needs and demands are accurately reflected in investment planning processes. Within this framework, we serve as an interface between central and local stakeholders. While working to translate national policies and objectives into action at the local level, we also seek to maximise the contribution of regional development to national development through local planning and strategy-making processes.

As a relatively new and distinctive institutional structure within Türkiye’s public administration system, we endeavour, throughout all these activities, to ensure the highest possible level of local participation in decision-making and implementation processes, while also putting in place measures to ensure effective coordination with central public institutions and organisations.

As 26 development agencies operating across Türkiye’s 26 NUTS Level 2 regions, we continuously renew and improve our approaches by developing innovative processes, with the aim of serving as a solution partner for all our stakeholders in reducing economic and social development disparities between regions and strengthening the global competitiveness of our regions.
